The gallery is bursting with the colours from Lizzy Leckie’s dye practice. There are wonderful gradations of hues, sensitive chromatic wrappings and textures that beg to be felt.
Here is a small selection of intimate views.
The solo exhibition by the creative Lizzy Leckie is going to fill the gallery with forms and shapes of beauty for the start of the winter season. Lizzy is a new to the gallery artist for 2025 and we are really anticipating learning more about Lizzy’s practice and seeing her works in the flesh. Lizzy is a dye artist and a weaver……..you never know what that can produce!
The exhibition is composed of weavings, dyed hanks of fibre, plants, assorted fibres and clays
This installation maps place and time, capturing the unexpected results discovered from dyeing with harvested roadside weeds, fallen trees, and carefully cultivated plants.
While the installation is a scientific study, I want the viewer to be primarily captivated by the magic and creativity in nature. The unique colour vibrations and the texture of the dyed fibres.
You are all invited to celebrate this exhibition by joining us on Thursday 19th June from 5.30pm for the opening. Refreshments will be served.
