Description
Marilyn has brought our attention into the heart of the flowers of this key habitat and food species. The manuka bush provides so much nutrient for small birds and other pollinators ( as well as the special honey for species man). The floor under the manuka is an essential feeding area as well as a regeneration zone. This work is a beautiful homage to an invaluable plant in our bush. The handwoven work is part of a larger collection of woven and drawn works highlighting our endangered and extinct species and their threats. Often manuka is just considered as ‘good for firewood’ and is cleared in vast swaths. Part of Extinction is Forever.
