Description
This work is my Earth Cloak. It is created combining materials found in the place where I am with materials from places where I have been. Colours have been created on the materials using the local plants for this environment.
Woven with wire through the warp to enhance the 3D quality of the complex surface I consider this work to be ‘living’.
For me the work evokes a cloak of security, safety and belonging – the cloak of home.
Materials: Cotton Seine and stainless steel wire for warp, Weft – assorted natural materials – wools, silks, cottons, cabbage tree leaves, paper. Botanically dyed and printed.
Care Instructions: Do not hang in direct sunlight. Brush gently to clean.
