Listening to your cloth – Design and Sew.

Louise Cooke will lead this second two-day workshop designing a project that will make use of your woven cloth.
Saori style sewing methods can be slightly different to everyday sewing to make allowances for your hand-woven cloth. The methods are extremely practical and make use of the “no-waste” principle.

Over the two days, you will be shown how to:

  • cut your hand-woven cloth
  • practice seams that are best for sewing your hand-woven cloth
  • work from a pattern and sew your own unique creation
  • drape, design and sew a garment to wear

This workshop requires you to already have some handwoven cloth. It is very exciting and satisfying to complete a weaving project with a sewing process which can be proudly worn or displayed.

The workshop is available to four or five weavers.
