Tutor: Louise Cook, Saori Tutor and agent for NZ.

AT THIS STAGE THIS WORKSHOP WILL HAVE TO BE DELAYED UNTIL WE CAN ACCOMMODATE MORE PEOPLE IN A SMALL SPACE. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THE GALLERY POSTS FOR UPDATES

Saturday October 16th & Sunday October 17th 2021.
Time: 9am -3.00pm
each day

Description

In this workshop you will be guided through using the Saori style patterns which encourages no-waste and lends itself to draping and using your hand-woven cloth to its best possible advantage for the wearer. The tutor will guide you through this process and demonstrate the Saori recommended method of cutting and sewing seams in your hand-woven cloth. Depending on your fabric you will sew your creation or at least ready it for the sewing process.

Over the course of the two day workshop the participant may achieve a garment to wear this could include hats and bags. The result depends on your cloth. Each participant will learn about the special nature of their own handwoven cloth and gain confidence in creating items using it to its best purpose. This is called “Listening to the Cloth”
