Tutor – Anne Garvey
Saturday August 7th
10am – 3.30pm
A workshop to learn up-cycling skills that you can take with you anywhere. Design and stitch a fold-over style clutch purse from a fine woollen jersey or jumper that you love, can no longer wear and want to give additional life to. There can be trims or not as you like, inside pockets either one or two and nice closures. A great project that doesn’t require the use of a sewing machine and can draw on your treasures and stash. Excellent low carbon footprint activity.
Venue: at ‘from out of the blue studio gallery’. 18 Halse Place, Opunake 4616
Materials: Some threads and materials will be tutor supplied.
You will need to bring: An old woollen garment, a fat quarter sized piece of fabric that is a good colour way with the jersey, a variety of crochet hooks, needles (with different sized eyes), pins, scissors, laces, trims, embroidery threads, decorative bits and pieces, silks, perle cottons etc. and a nice button for the closure.
Costs: $50.00 per person
